Job Summary: Develop a blueprint for our new advisory curriculum based on CASEL recommendations, and lesson plans for the morning meeting/advisory periods for the first two weeks of school for the elementary, middle or high school grade spans. Advisory curriculum will address safety, social emotional skills and well-being, and community norms, values and behaviors and other themes identified by the Phase IV Education Committee.

Reports to Director of Teaching and Learning and building principals.

(Advisory/morning meeting will be part of the schedules 2-5 days per week depending on the grade span.)

Hours: Up to 20 hours @ $40/hour before 8/31

Responsibilities:

  • Work with other Developers at your grade span to create a Blueprint for this new curriculum which includes 
    • articulation of the purpose of advisory/morning meeting
    • descriptions of the general themes or topics that will be covered at each grade level/grade span for each month
    • development of annual student learning objectives 
    • identification of open-source resources that support educators in implementing the curriculum.
  • Develop lesson plans for the first two weeks of school for each grade level/span

Note: The Phase IV Education Committee will provide a list of resources and some direction to support this work.
