Swampscott High School is looking for a dynamic educator for grades 9-12. Ideal candidate will be flexible, energetic, and passionate about the job.
Responsibilities include:
- Ability to create and maintain a welcoming, positive, and structured classroom climate with high expectations for each student.
- Teaching Modern World History (roughly 1800-present) at the College Preparatory and Advance College Preparatory levels.
- The skills outlined in the Massachusetts Social Studies Frameworks with particular focus on : analysis of historical evidence form various points of view (primary and secondary sources); cause and effect; continuity and change over time; and historical writing skills (creating an argument/claim and supporting it with evidence).
- Communication with parents
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MA Social Studies teaching license 8-12
- Master’s Degree preferred
- SEI Endorsement required
- At least two years relevant teaching experience. Technological expertise preferred: experience working with Google Classroom / G-Suite Apps / Online Credit Recovery Programs
- Such additional qualifications as Swampscott High School may find appropriate and acceptable
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
