Swampscott Public Schools is seeking two elementary educators with a background and interested in teaching  science  to join our staff.  We are seeking energetic, flexible, enthusiastic teachers to help build a robust science education program in grades K to 4.

One position will be full time (1 FTE) and one part time (.7 FTE - days and time to be determined).   

The positions will require travel between school  buildings. 

Responsibilities include:

• Plan and deliver science instruction based on the district’s curriculum maps, the state science standards, and best practices in science instruction
• Assess student progress and  complete progress reports and  report cards
• Work collaboratively with district level staff to  review and revise science curriculum
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to understand students’ needs.
• Communicate regularly with families to build relationships and support students’ progress

Qualifications: 

• MA Elementary Teacher certification with ability to understand and teach science in grades K to 4.
• Science education background preferred. 
• Strong organizational skills,  attention to detail, strong technology skills. 
• Ability to share responsibility and work as a member of a team. 

This is a grant funded position with the potential end date of 6/30/2023
