Swampscott Public Schools is seeking two elementary educators with a background and interested in teaching science to join our staff. We are seeking energetic, flexible, enthusiastic teachers to help build a robust science education program in grades K to 4.
One position will be full time (1 FTE) and one part time (.7 FTE - days and time to be determined).
The positions will require travel between school buildings.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and deliver science instruction based on the district’s curriculum maps, the state science standards, and best practices in science instruction
- Assess student progress and complete progress reports and report cards
- Work collaboratively with district level staff to review and revise science curriculum
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to understand students’ needs.
- Communicate regularly with families to build relationships and support students’ progress
Qualifications:
- MA Elementary Teacher certification with ability to understand and teach science in grades K to 4.
- Science education background preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, strong technology skills.
- Ability to share responsibility and work as a member of a team.
