The Extended Day Program Lead Group Instructor position is responsible for the purpose of helping students develop and strengthen academic, physical and social skills in a safe and supervised extended day enrichment program.
• Passion for Extended Day and youth development.
• Dedicated, reliable, organized and punctual.
• Demonstrates, verbally and by role modeling, a sound knowledge of good educational practices.
• Leads students in fun and engaging activities including arts & crafts, gym, homework, STEM, and more.
• Builds a positive relationship with each after-school participant in your care, and foster positive connections between participants.
• Actively engage with students at all times with the goal of fostering the positive development of each student and the group.
• Conduct yourself as a professional and representative of Extended Day with school staff, parents, students, and community.
• Ensures the care, safety, and well being of all students through proper supervision, enforcing safety standards and following emergency procedures.
• Manages roster, student issues, and reports.
• Must have good problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Requirements:
Schedule: School Days M-F available between the hours of 2:00-6:00pm and on Early Release days.
• Pay is $25.00 per hour
Qualifications:
• Two years experience with instructing and supervising children (K-8th grade) in a recreational and or educational setting.
• At least 21 years of age
• BA preferred in the following areas: psychology, education, recreation, and physical education.
• Effective communicator.
Due to the nature of the position the lead group instructor must be in competent physical condition and is subject to a physical. CPR/First Aid Certified preferred |
