Individual contract for approximately 8 days per month including every Tuesday.

 

 Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, the part-time Team Chair is responsible for, but not limited to the following responsibilities:

Chairs all team meetings in the district

Coordinates or attends all out of district team meetings

Coordinates the scheduling of and preparation for all team meetings, annual reviews and reevaluations.

Monitors and coordinates the IEP process. 

Provides reports to the Director and appropriate officials 

Is responsible for, in coordination with the Director, ensuring that all district and school procedures meet Federal, State, District and State requirements

Coordinates communication to and among the staff, and parents/guardians,  and out of district services. 

Other duties as assigned by the Director or Superintendent.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

Massachusetts DESE Special Education License professional status required. 

Three to five years of successful teaching or related experience in Special Education required

Excellent communication skills required

Knowledge of and comfort with the management of the Team Evaluation process required

Experience leading meeting with diverse groups required

Experience as a team leader , school administrator or Special Education Leader preferred  

Familiarity with WORD,EXCEL, Google Docs, Email 

 and the ability to use a student information system including a Special Education database

   Familiarity with WORD,EXCEL, Google Docs, Email
