Goal:  The SMS Library/Media Center should be the heart of the school; a learning commons offering programs and materials to welcome all students and staff.  

Create a library/media center that helps students feel confident about reading choices and produces critical thinkers.  Offer a curriculum that teaches library and media literacy skills. Work with teachers to design classes for their specific curriculum needs.  Meet with all district library professionals and Nahant Public Schools personnel to produce a system-wide curriculum using MSLA and AASL standards.   

Beyond that, the library needs to be a safe place for our students to learn and express themselves.
