Swampscott Public Schools anticipate hiring 1-2 Math Coaches to join our district Teaching and Learning Team, to begin August 26, 2020.

Major responsibilities include:

1. Develop and lead professional development and job-embedded coaching for teachers, tutors and educational support paraprofessionals
2. Support the study, planning and implementation of differentiated instruction, assessment, and data analysis
3. Assist in the review of established and the implementation of new instructional programs in mathematics
4. Keep abreast of best practice in math teaching, learning and assessment
5. Provide some direct instruction to students as part of a multi-tiered support system 
6. Attend mathematics related curriculum meetings after school

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in math education
2. Licensed in mathematics in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (1-6, 5-8 and/or 9-12)
3. Substantial mathematics teaching experience
4. Experience working on school and/or district wide initiatives

Initially the position will focus on math education K-8, but an ideal candidate would also possess the skills and desire to support other areas of the curriculum as an instructional coach in the future.
