VISUAL ARTS TEACHER – SWAMPSCOTT HIGH SCHOOL – SY 24/25

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated High School Art Educator to teach a variety of visual arts classes, including Ceramics 1, 2, and 3, Photography 1 and 2, and 3D Studio Art.

 

Preferred candidate:

  • Thorough knowledge of art education methods, techniques, tools, and safety procedures used for, but not limited to ceramics (kiln use and safety), sculpture, photography (traditional and digital), and other related media.
  • Ability to design and implement engaging lessons that focus on each student’s artistic process, encouraging creativity and exploration.  
  • Ability to deliver differentiated instruction in response to students’ varying ability levels.
  • Understanding of the use of technology for curriculum integration.
  • Experience with mounting gallery exhibitions of student work.
  • Positive classroom management techniques and responsiveness to student diversity.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with colleagues, administrators, staff, and parents.  Work collaboratively with other classroom teachers to successfully implement integrated instruction and share best practices.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education or Fine Arts required.  Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Two years of High School teaching experience (minimum).
    • Massachusetts DESE Arts/Visual Arts Grades 9-12

 

  • Candidates should digitally submit samples of their own artwork with their resume.
