The School Psychologist supports students at Swampscott High School with behavioral and emotional needs.

Job description:

  • Complete evaluations, write IEPs and progress reports
  • Lead groups and classroom lessons as needed
  • Provide individual counseling and support to students/small groups of students
  • Develop and maintain behavior plans
  • Collaborate closely with all team members including inclusion specialists, other members of the Special Education team, general education teachers and administrators
  • Communicate with parents/guardians and outside service providers
  • Participate in Student Support Team
  • As a member of the crisis response team, provides intervention as needed including supporting other psychologists in the district.
  • Maintain accurate records of work
  • All other related duties as requested by supervisor.

Other criteria:

  • Knowledge of Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies and the Zones of Regulation
  • Familiar with MCAS implementation 
  • Flexibility/ability to juggle multiple demands
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Team player

Job Requirements:

  • Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a current Mass. DESE School Psychologist license 
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Master degree preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
