BUILDING BASED PERMANENT SUBSTITUTE

Reports to: Building Principal


Key Responsibilities: 

  •  To foster an environment of respect and inclusion in the building 
  •  Provide daily coverage for teachers, tutors, and ESPs throughout the school
  •  Maintain a safe and positive learning environment 
  •  Supervise children in the classroom, cafeteria, and recess settings 
  •  Support school-wide duties (e.g., lunch, recess, dismissal) 
  •  Provide individual and small group instruction, both in-person and remotely
  •  Assist teachers in developing and implementing strategies to reinforce skills and content Collaborate with teachers and   related service providers 
  •  Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Designee

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree preferred 
  •  Teaching, tutoring, or coaching experience preferred 
  •  Competent with technology, including Microsoft Office, Google Classroom

Physical Requirements: 


This position may require long periods of standing, walking, and sitting; talking or hearing in person and by telephone; using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reaching with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The individual may be exposed to ultraviolet lights as are found in computer monitors and copying equipment. The individual may be exposed to various hazards in the building.
