Data Specialist

Job Goal:

Under general supervision, this position coordinates and completes the accurate collection, maintenance, manipulation, and reporting of data for district and state reporting

 

Reports to: Superintendent or designee

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years experience preferred
  • Experience in Aspen, Google Docs, and Excel required, MUNIS preferred
  • Bachelor Degree preferred

Responsibilities:

 

REPORTING: 

  • Collect, enter, and validate data for Annual, Bi-Annual, and Tri-Annual reports: SIMS, EPIMS, SCS, School Attending Children, and SSDR 
  • CRDC – Prepare district and school information bi-annually
  • EEO-5 – Collect and enter district and school information bi-annually
  • Modified CD – 1x per year. Monitor for completion & submission
  • Update enrollment reports monthly
  • School Committee enrollment/withdrawal reports annually

 

ASPEN:

  • Update staff and student data in Aspen, Update w/DESE if applicable
  • Maintain clean data in Aspen
  • Assist with Aspen problems reported via telephone, email, or IncidentIQ
  • Update Aspen school & staff calendars annually
  • Upload assessment scores (MCAS, AP, SAT, ACT) to Aspen.  Prepare & run uploads as scores are received
  • Export teacher evaluations from Teachpoint, and upload to Aspen annually
  • Execute EOY rollover
  • Attend weekly Aspen training webinars
  • Monitor & update reports, exports, and scheduled jobs

OTHER:

  • System administrator for DESE security portal
  • Perform such tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned or delegated by the Superintendent or Designee

 

ENVIRONMENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

This position may require long periods of sitting; talking or hearing in person and by telephone; using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; and reaching with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The individual may be exposed to ultraviolet lights as are found in computer monitors and copying equipment. The individual may be exposed to various hazards in the building.
