Middle School Front Office Administrative Assistant
About the Role: 

We're looking for a personable,  organized, resourceful individual to join our team as a Middle School Front Office Administrative Assistant! In this role, you'll be the welcoming face of our school, providing essential support to students, parents, staff, and the community. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our main office. There are several key elements to this role that encompass various daily and annual responsibilities.  An overview of the roles and responsibilities.

STUDENT SUPPORT:

  • Support student needs; assist students with various inquiries, such as attendance issues, locker assignments, and general questions regarding school operations, calendars, building use, and more.
  • Support Principal and Assistant Principal with discipline matters.

COMMUNICATION:

  • Greet and assist visitors: Welcome parents, community members, and other guests to our school 
  • Manage communications: Handle incoming calls and emails, mail, and ensure timely and accurate communication with all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with staff: Provide support to teachers and staff members with administrative tasks and requests.

OPERATIONS:

  • Daily Student Attendance
  • Manage attendance reports; supporting efforts to reduce chronic absenteeism
  • Maintain office operations: Manage office supplies, distribute mail,   building use, and maintenance requests.
  • Support the administration with all school functions: assist the Principal and Assistant Principal with various projects including welcome events, scheduling meetings, managing communications,  student records, and attendance.
  • Ensure student safety: Help maintain a safe and secure school environment by assisting at the front security desk as needed, and participating on the School Crisis Team, to name a few.

ENVIRONMENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

This position may require long periods of sitting; talking or hearing in person and by telephone; using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; and reaching with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The individual may be exposed to ultraviolet lights as are found in computer monitors and copying equipment. The individual may be exposed to various hazards in the building.
