LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE GRADE 3 TEACHER TO COVER A LEAVE OF ABSENCE BEGINNING APPROXIMATELY FEBRUARY 24, 2025

 

Reports to: Building Principal

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Creatively provide an interdisciplinary course of study that integrates reading, writing, analytical skills development in alignment with state curricular frameworks for core content areas.
  • Implement district learning goals and objectives using a Standards based Math Curriculum, and Readers’ and Writers’ Workshop Model,
  • Create a developmentally appropriate, child centered environment that establishes positive student behavioral expectations conducive to all learners needs through structured routines, and (PBIS) positive behavioral interventions.
  • Establish classroom structure that values positive relationships through intentional implementation of appropriate curriculum
  • Administer district mid-year and end-of-year assessments in accordance with district guidelines.
  • Familiarity with Intro To Reading, I-Ready, AimsWeb Testing, Lucy Calkins Writing, Fountas & Pinnell (BAS testing), and standards-based grading is advantageous.
  • Comfortable with technology: experience with Google Classroom, Zoom, SeeSaw or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Other duties typical for a classroom teacher.

Job Requirements

  • Massachusetts Elementary certification (Elementary 1-6) 
  • SEI endorsement
  • Masters Degree preferred

Physical Requirements: 

This position may require long periods of standing, walking, and sitting; talking or hearing in person and by telephone; using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reaching with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. The individual may be exposed to ultraviolet lights as are found in computer monitors and copying equipment. The individual may be exposed to various hazards in the building.
