Job Posting: Daily On Call/As Needed Substitute Teacher (Grades PreK–6)
Location: Johnson Elementary School – Nahant, MA

Johnson Elementary School in Nahant, MA is seeking patient, dependable, and flexible Daily On Call/As Needed Substitute Teachers to support classroom learning for students in grades PreK–6. This position offers a welcoming and collaborative environment in a small seaside community school with small class sizes and a supportive team.

Position Details:

Daily Substitute Teacher (On-call/as needed – PreK–6)
$115/day – flexible scheduling available

We are looking for individuals who are available to step into classrooms as needed to maintain a consistent and supportive learning environment for absent teachers and ESPs. You can choose and share your availability based on your schedule. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy working with children and supporting public education, especially retirees, parents, University students and recent graduates.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide instruction and supervision following the teacher’s prepared lesson plans
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment
• Manage classroom behavior using school-wide expectations
• Communicate any issues or updates to school administrators
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunch, and recess as needed
• Supervision may include off site visits at times
• Follow school protocols and emergency procedures
• Be adaptable and willing to support various grade levels and subject areas
• Any other responsibilities assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
  
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Experience working with children (preferred)
• Ability to follow lesson plans and maintain classroom routines
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude is essential
• Must pass CORI and fingerprint background checks
  
  

Compensation:

• $115/day
• Flexible scheduling — choose the days you're available
