LIBRARY & DIGITAL LEARNING SPECIALIST- ELEMENTARY K-4

 

Job Overview:

The Swampscott Public Schools Elementary Library & Digital Learning Specialist will be responsible for performing the duties of a K-4 digital learning teacher, librarian, and instructional technology consultant for our brand new elementary school. This is 1 of 2 positions with the other filled with a veteran library/digital learning specialist with whom you will work closely with to share these responsibilities. We are excited that we are opening a brand new elementary school, so this is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a new member of our team in a beautiful brand new building with an upper and lower library, a brand new collection of over 5,000 books, and new technology including a Promethean, iPads, and Chromebooks.

 The ideal candidate will ensure that students are effective users of ideas and information and will empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.

Qualifications

A highly qualified candidate will be licensed as a School Librarian in the state of Massachusetts, OR licensed as an Instructional Technology specialist OR a DLCS license. In addition, an SEI certification is preferred or must be obtained in the first year of the position.
