SWIFT Academic Teacher

Swampscott High School | Swampscott Public Schools

Position Overview

Swampscott High School is seeking a compassionate and structured educator to serve as the SWIFT Academic Teacher. SWIFT is an essential temporary "bridge" program designed to provide academic, organizational, and emotional support for students returning to school after a long-term absence due to complex challenges such as psychiatric hospitalization, medical issues, or concussions. In this role, your primary function will be to provide the targeted academic scaffolding necessary to help these students successfully reintegrate into their regular school routines.

Because vulnerable students navigating sensitive re-entry transitions rely heavily on consistency, routine, and a dependable advocate, punctuality and reliable, consistent attendance are absolute essentials for this role. Guided by the district’s C.O.R.E. values—Community, Opportunity, Respect, and Equity—you will work under the direction of the building administration to cultivate a supportive environment where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to regain their academic footing.
